Working with Nilesh Oak

The Early Spark

My journey with Nilesh Oak began when I discovered his groundbreaking research on archaeoastronomy and the scientific dating of ancient Indian texts. His work on establishing timelines for events in the Mahabharata and Ramayana using astronomical data was unlike anything I had encountered.

A Mind-Opening Encounter

What started as admiration for his research evolved into something more meaningful. Oak’s methodical approach to studying ancient Indian history through the lens of astronomy challenged many conventional narratives and opened new pathways for understanding our civilizational heritage.

The First Meeting

We first met in person at a Ramayana conference in Jabalpur. That meeting transformed our online correspondence into a genuine mentorship. His guidance has been invaluable in ensuring historical accuracy in my narrative scripts.

A Collaboration That Grew

Today, Nilesh Oak serves as executive producer and intellectual guide for the 10 Indic Films Project. His role extends beyond advisory—he’s a constant source of inspiration for research-driven historical narrative work. Together, we’re working to bring scientifically grounded stories about India’s ancient past to modern audiences.
