The Double Standard

This multimedia piece examines disparate scholarly standards applied to religious figures from Eastern versus Western traditions. It centers on comparing birth narratives of Shri Ram and Jesus Christ, challenging assumptions that position Ram as legendary while treating Christ as historically verified—despite textual ambiguities in biblical accounts.

Indic Sources

The production draws from classical Indic sources, particularly Valmiki’s Ramayana, which provides astronomical details, stellar positions, and genealogical records tracing lineage to the Ikshvaku dynasty. Concurrently, it highlights inconsistencies within Matthew’s and Luke’s New Testament accounts regarding parentage, birthplace, and ancestry.

Scientific Dating

Supporting Ram’s dating claim, researcher Nilesh Oak’s astronomical analysis cross-references Valmiki’s descriptions with planetarium simulations, citing over 500 observations to establish November 29, 12,240 BCE as the calculated birth date.

Visual Approach

The visual approach combines animated sequences, manuscript imagery, and textual overlays, balancing satire with evidence while maintaining accessibility. I handled all production aspects internally, reflecting broader efforts to present Indic narratives through contemporary methods and rigorous verification.
